I've been searching for a way to "fix" my body after screwing it up royally about 3 years ago when I first tried and failed at the sport of skate skiing.
The history is...
- 3 years ago, dropped some weight and started training for long distance cycling.
- in the off-season, thought that skate skiing would be a good cardio burn. Turns out, my hip just really didn't like that movement. End result = almost couldn't walk for a short while. Right hip was creaking, knee was popping all over the place. Conclusion... new respect for the technique of skate skiiers.
- took it easy for about 2 years. Translation... got fat.
- now, 2009 rolls around and I need to burn some fat. - started cycling again in summer.
- now running in fall and winter. good stuff.
- tried yoga... completely enamored with the process. Great feeling after a class.
So, being that I am a photographer, I thought I would document some real yogis. Seriously.
These guys are good. Not only do they know their stuff, they teach a pretty mean class and help people who are at all levels. You don't have to be a yoga "professional" to get started.
All you have to do is get started.
Here's some images of the experts from Newport Yoga at work.
